The Challenge comes in three forms, garden, procurement, or supreme (a combination of garden and procurement). Your school or district can choose how you want to participate, and sign up accordingly. If you are a school, check out this resource on how to talk to farmers about procurement. If you are a farmer, consider reaching out to your local school districts who have participated/would want to participate this year about setting up a relationship.

Gather with farm to school practitioners from all fields in Jackson on October 12th at the Mississippi E-Center at Jackson State University (1230 Raymond Rd, Jackson MS 39204) for an all day conference. Topics from cafeteria, classroom, and community connections to farm to school will be discussed. A keynote, delicious lunch featuring local foods, and huge networking session will all be included.
Registration opens at 8am, and the conference starts at 9am. We will finish up our closing reception by 5pm and have dinner meet ups around the Jackson area at 6:30pm.

The designated hotel for the conference is the Comfort Inn & Suites in Clinton, MS. The hotel is located just outside Jackson, and about a 10-minute drive from our conference site at the JSU E-Center. Rooms are available at right around $80/night for the nights of October 11th and October 12th.
